Aizawl City is in the northeast Indian state of Mizoram. The geography of Mizoram is characterized by steep mountains and many trees and vegetation.

The city streets are narrow and winding, with many pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles and scooters, and small vehicles. Lorries carrying many different types of products can also be found on these roads and streets, though usually in the early morning hours -- they can clog a street completely, blocking traffic in both directions.
